It is named after Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin; he was a famous French musician and she an English actress, singer and Hermès muse for the Birkin bag. They were each individually successful, creative and strong but together they created magic...and mischief. They became even more well-known after they released the scandalous single “Je t’aime...moi non plus”, where she was erotically moaning in the song, which caused it to be banned from radio play in many countries. The space at S+J is much like their vibe...laid-back, rebellious, sexy, passionate, moody, and full of art, fashion and music.
